Bond Cleaning Checklist: The Full Room by Room List (2026)

Short answer

A bond clean must return the property to the condition recorded in the entry condition report, fair wear and tear excepted. In practice that means every room cleaned top to bottom, the oven and rangehood degreased, all bathrooms descaled and mould free, all internal windows, tracks and sills done, walls spot cleaned, and carpets professionally steam cleaned if they were carpeted at move in.

Kitchen

• Oven, grill, trays and racks degreased inside and out


• Rangehood filters degreased, exhaust wiped


• Cooktop, splashback and grout scrubbed


• Inside, outside and on top of all cupboards and drawers


• Inside the dishwasher, including the filter and seals


• Fridge cavity, sink, taps and drain descaled


• Benchtops, skirting boards and floors

Bathrooms and laundry

• Shower screens descaled, soap scum and mould removed


• Grout, silicone and shower tracks scrubbed


• Toilet cleaned inside, outside, behind and at the base


• Vanity, mirrors, cabinets inside and out


• Exhaust fan covers dusted and wiped


• Laundry tub, behind the machine, dryer lint filter

Bedrooms and living areas

• Wardrobes inside, shelves, rails and mirrored doors


• Ceiling fans, light fittings and air vents dusted


• Cobwebs removed from all corners and cornices


• Walls spot cleaned, marks and scuffs removed


• Skirting boards, door frames, doors and handles wiped


• Power points and light switches wiped


• Carpets vacuumed then professionally steam cleaned


• Hard floors vacuumed and mopped

Windows, doors and outside

• Internal window glass, sills and all tracks


• External glass where safely reachable


• Flyscreens dusted or washed


• Blinds wiped, curtains checked as per the lease


• Balcony, patio, garage floor swept, cobwebs removed


• Letterbox emptied, bins cleaned out

Before the final inspection

Photograph every room once the clean is finished, compare against your entry condition report, and keep receipts for carpet steam cleaning and pest control if your lease required them. If your agent raises an issue, most reputable cleaners including us will return and re-clean the disputed items free of charge.
